Hello everyone,
Today, finally, I managed to watch the first episode of the anime series Hidan no Aria that we previewed some time ago and I feel I found my favourite series of this season already.
The story start up and shows from the start it's quality fanservice/comedy factor with both Shirayuki Hotogi and Aria H Kanzaki's fanservice scenes right from the start and the incredible comedy factor of the patology of our protagonist (Kinji Tohyama) that makes him looks really stupid.
The highlight from the first episode was for sure Kugimiya's role as Aria...It was some time from the last time I saw Kugimiya in a main tsundere role and to be honest it's always fantastic to listen to her whiny trademark voice.
Also very nice the Shirayuki "perfect wife" personality even if I heard that she can get quite yandere if other womans get around Kinji, so there is much catfight that awaits us in this harem situation (four girls around our protagonist)
From the first episode, my best scene would be the scene when Kinji start to protect Aria with his double personality. It was too much funny watching him doing an "ohime-sama dakko" against her will to Aria.
The animation was not the best out there, but decent enough to not make you shout at the director. (I hope for a better dvd/blu ray release with some fix to it)
The character design of the girls like I previewed is very good and exactly of the genre I love and is quite consistent with the original light novel.
My favourite character by now is obviously the main heroine Aria H Kanzaki, for both her Kugimiya voice and her typical "not honest with herself" personality. (one of the traits that I most like in a female character in anime)
Also very nice our protagonist, looks like a lot resembling Ayumu from Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka in its personality and at least it's not an emo kid like the protagonist of Dragon Crisis.
What we can await now from the following episodes? Well, from the first look to the preview it looks like next episode will show us another character (Riko Mine) real personality when in action with some weapon.
Probably these presentation episodes will continue for a couple of episodes till all the personalities and characters are revealed and the main story can finaly unfold.
Concluding, , this is starting like a good series, one that will likely fill my slot for blogging every couple of episodes a little like Infinite Stratos. (but let's hope this one will focus on giving some basic plot at least)
