Hello everyone,
Here we are for yet another review of a rather cute slice-of-life/comedy manga/anime series that aired some year ago (2009) named Kanamemo and based over an original story by Shoko Iwami.

Let's start with a synopsis :
The story centers on Kana Nakamichi, a middle-school girl who had already lost her parents and just recently lost her only remaining relative, her grandmother. As a result, she ends up living and working at a newspaper delivery office. Everyone else living at the office are all charming, self-assertive bishōjo. The story follows Kana’s daily life in the fast-paced yet joyous environment.
Yes, this is a slice of life pure story (with focus over the character simple life with almost no fanservice whatsoever) that cheered me up quite a bit at the time it first aired.

Each single episode focus on a particular trial our little orphan girl should work toward to complete while working at the newspaper delivery office where she ended up living after she remained alone.
I loved the bycicle training episode with all the hilarity that Kana is able to create with her clumsiness. (especially if helped by the other girls)

There is a rather cute and pure aura around each of the character of the story and you'll never see any bad guy in this series, just a lot of diffuse cuteness everywhere.
The characters are few, but all well defined and with a solid backstory explained as the show go ahead with some flashback or dedicated episodes.

My favourite character is by far the ojou-sama Mika Kujiin, with her "don't honest with herself" attitude and extreme cuteness, especially when talking with Kana (she seem to have special feeling for Kana).
Nice is also the yuri couple Yume Kitaoka and Yuuki Minami with her constant flirting. (Fantastic is the aura Yuuki starts to emit when Yume is doing something with someone else than her)

The graphical quality and the design of the girls is wonderful (I especially liked the Mika's design), but unfortunately the animation suffer from heavy problems and low quality probably due to low budget.
The sound quality instead, like always in these cases is top notch (why they spend all in seiyuu and nothing in graphical quality?!) with wonderful seiyuu like Aki Toyosaki in Kana Nakamachi's role, Ryou Hirohashi in Yume Kitaoka's role, Yui Horie in Haruka Nishida's role, Rie Kugimiya in Mika Kujiin's role and many other BIG names.

Concluding, , this is a good series (even if with low quality animation) and I suggest this series to anyone looking for a relaxed watch with little to no plot, but with plenty of cuteness and warm feelings.
If only they improved a little the animation quality...
See you soon,
