Hello,
Let's quickly go to review a new series. This time we'll talk about a endless cuteness (or I should say Moe?) anime named Moetan based on a series of English language study books for otaku.

Let's start with a synopsis :
Ink Nijihara is a girl in high school. Unfortunately her crush Nao Tezuka barely recognizes her. To make matters worse, she is very short and very conscious of it. Now Ink meets a duck from the magical kingdom and becomes a "mahou shoujo" and teaches Nao English in disguise.
Ok, from this I think you already understood that there is no plot, even if they try from time to time to get the series a little more serious.

The series can be summarized as a series of episodes mostly unlinked between them focusing on a particular situation happening to our heroines. (All the episodes form a simil-plot, but well...)
Strangely, be it for the wonderful design or voiceover I got really picked up by the series continous parody of many anime genres. (Mahou Shoujo, but also battle and many others)

The characters are rather few, but each one of them is very well characterized and easily recognizable by both physical and personality trait. The characters personality follow many of the common stereotypes of the most common anime characters.
My favourite character in this series is Sumi Kuroi with her "not honest with herself" personality and her fantastic costume (or well it is a pajama or so she says) she wear when sleeping.

Nice second for Alice Shiratori (in both adult and child version) with her lovestruck battle against "Ahiro no Ah-kun" a fanatic flat-girl lover that ignores her.
The most hated? Ruriko! I just can't stand that maid that is complaining at every time.

The graphical quality is wonderful in both anime and drawings. The girls style is very childish, especially the one of both Ink and Sumi that looks more like elementary grade schoolgirl than high school one. (Normal instead the Remi's and Rina's style)
The animation has been good and consistent for the whole series so nothing to complain about here.

The sound quality is top notch, we have here many famous seiyuu and some I love a lot like Haruka Tomatsu in the Sumi Kuroi's role, Yukari Tamura in Ink Nijihara's role, etc...
The OP and ED are quite catchy and I found myself rewinding multiple times when watching the episodes thought they are not generic enough to be heard outside the anime context.

Concluding this is a good series to watch from the comedy and moè standpoint, if comedy (just like me) is your favourite genre this is a nice pick to watch for the high production value of this work.
See you soon,
