Hello everyone,
Here we are for yet another review of a manga/anime series that aired some years ago named Pandora Hearts that quite got my attention when the anime season preview was rolling at that time.

Let's start with a synopsis :
Oz Bezarius, heir to one of the duke houses, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he's cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "chain" known as Alice, the bloodstained black rabbit. Why was he cast into Abyss, how does Alice factor into it all, and what does the organization known as "Pandora" want with him...
Yeah, the story looks like the general shounen manga, but the plot is quite darker in its execution with details and scenes full of despair. (at least in the anime)

The anime start up in a magnificent way with a lots of fantastic concepts like the one of a Chain and all the questions arisen from the Alice existance, the time loop, the appearance of the golden haired guy (an ancestor of Oz) and many other things one after another that gives off the feeling "this is gonna be good"...

...but in the end unfortunately most of these plot strings fall down with not-so-interesting resolutions leaving you a little disillusioned.
The manga as I heard is quite different so I'm curious to see how that will fare in the state of things especially in the second half of the series.

The characters are quite interesting even thought some of them gives off bad vibes of BL situations and I just ignored them in my wallpapers as you may noticed leaving almost only Alice in our wallpaper list.
Yes, Alice that she is my favourite character due to her cute body, complex personality and also her tragic past that is slowly piece after piece recollected during the travels.

Nice second place for the grown up sister of the male lead, she's incredible cute with her occult mania.
On the top of the most hated character is the male lead of course, it's for most of the series childish, stupid and instinctive even thought it start to mature a little during the series.

The visual quality of the series is pretty high, loved the design of Alice and most of the backgrounds of the series. The animation was mostly consistent even if it had some major screw-up here and there.
Loved also the opening animation with all the rainy environment and the clock theme well reproduced.

The sound quality is also pretty high even thought the majority of the cast isn't the most famous (except for Daisuke Ono in Jack's role, Jun Fukuyama in Vincent's role and some other minor roles)
I loved both opening and ending of this series and my favourite voice character is by far the hateful Xerxes Break portrayed by Akira Ishida.
Concluding this is a rather good series with good production values, but in my opinion lacked something in the second part that decreased the final quality of the work.
Neverthless this is a suggested series if you like action/fantasy series.
See you soon,
