Hello everyone,
Here we are for another review, this time we'll talk about a recent harem light novel/manga/anime series named "Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun" written by Daisuke Suzuki.

Let's start with a synopsis :
Shungo is a normal high school student living in a huge house. One day, his sister Ryoko send two siblings, Mayu and Mikihiro Tsukimura, to live with him so as to help Mayu overcome her problem—androphobia, by making Mayu and Shungo share the same room and bed, and to even take baths together. To make things even worse, Reika Hojo, the student-council chair, somehow ends up becoming their maid.
Do you think this is a rather fleble plot? Then wait, because there is more to it, a lot more to it.

First of all there are many kind of demons in this series, our main heroine, Mayu is a succubus for example and can kill by simply kissing males. Another big problem for Mayu is the fact that if she doesn't control her power she end up charming all males in kilometers to do her bidding (and scaring her as she suffer from androphobia.
The story isn't the most original, nor deep, but the mix between comedy and fanservice is quite good and the few episodes this series is composed of will pass really fast.

My favourite episode is the one in which Shungo, Mayu and Reika are attacked by some soldiers. I loved watching Reika using Mayu clumsiness to trigger various traps in the forum causing fear and death between the soldiers.
The anime end up as inconclusive as there is tons of material to cover from the original light novel (I'll need to buy it sooner or later)

The characters are lovely and follows the main stereotypes of anime. You'll end up sympathizing for them after just a couple of episodes, also there is some level of character growth during the series.
My favourite character is...well difficult to say. If I should say beauty wise it's for sure Reika Houjou, with her slim and cute style. If I should say characterial wise, it's Hinako Ayakawa with her cheerful personality and her costant teasing of Ninomiya.

The visual quality of the series is top notch, one of the best tv series of the last years. I loved the girls style and design (it's a little reminiscent of the common Visual Novel style used in the recent years)
The animation is mostly consistent even thought there aren't many fast-paced action scene to judge about. I especially loved the ending animation with all the girls dancing in a synchronized way reminiscent of the ED of Haruhi Suzumiya. (but to be honest, I prefer these girls dancing to Haruhi)

The sound quality is quite good even thought the seiyuu that worked on this series aren't the most famous except maybe Saeko Chiba as Shinobu Kirishima and Mai Kadowaki as Mayu Tsukimura.
Loved also the ending song named "Furefurepponpon!" and sung by the seiyuu of Mayu and Reika (Mai Kadowaki and Miyuki Sawashiro)

Concluding, this is an high production series focused on delivering fanservice and comedy and succeed in both. If you are into some fun go and take a look at it, but don't expect some deep story, this just isn't a plot centered series.
Let's hope for another adaptation in the future...
See you soon,
