Hello,
Continuing after the last great wasted potential (Nagasarete Airantou) we go ahead with another series.
One that is great in almost every aspect, but end up running short of plot and leaving thousands of situations on the fly and try to do some kind of "we'll still be fighting" ending.

Let's start with a synopsis :
In the distant future, a polluted world has been overtaken by havoc-wreaking creatures called filth monsters. Humanity, having been forced to relocate itself, must live in isolated mobile cities called Regios. A mysteriously skilled fighter named Layfon Alseif enrolls in the Academy city of Zuellni and is immediately noticed by Nina Antalk, leader of the 17th Military Arts Unit. He then reluctantly joins her squad, uncertain of what future awaits him and his new teammates within the city as well as the impending dangers in the midst of a plagued world.
The main plot as you can see is quite generic, but nevertheless interesting as there are many possibilities in which it can expand from this situation.

Finally for one time our hero is not a weak and stupid guy that strangely get power from somewhere, but a master in his battle style and basically a living monster to anyone near him in the rather calm city of Zuellni.
I especially liked how Leyfon end up knocking off anyone in the city like they were child!

The story does have some multi-episode arc, but they are very connected so it looks like it's a flowing story more than a separate arc. (Please note that I'm ignoring the many filler episodes in this evaluation)
The bad thing in all this is that they lose a lot of time in filler and minor episodes forgetting completely about the main plot and all the questions around this ravaged world.

The main characters aren't many and you'll find yourself liking them soon enough. They do some growth in the series, but nothing world-changing. (at least in the anime)
My favourite character is (as you can see from the wallpapers) Felli Loss with her quiet attitude, great power and little body she's too cute! (especially when angry :P)
I hated Nina Antalk for her bullish (in this one the Haikizoku is quite a good choice as companion), stupid attitude toward anyone.

The visual quality of the series is high (loved the design of the girls). The animation have some problem in the rather packed and fast action/battle scenes, but it's not exceptionally bad. From 1 to 10, I would give this animation quality a 7!
The opening animation was quite interesting showing a lot of the characters in once, but is at the same time quite spoilerish.

The sound quality is top notch, and this is one of the few series I actually got the drama cd for! Why you ask? Because Felli is voiced by Rie Kugimiya in the drama CD!!!
My favourite voice in the anime is instead the Mikako Takahashi role as Leerin Marfes, unfortunately her character is barely present in the anime series. :(

Concluding this series is a great series with a great potential unexplored. The characters were quite good and the premise also, the problem has been that the story forgotten himself into many fillers and ended up with a inconclusive ending with almost no answer given about the many questions everyone of us had.
Nevertheless I suggest to anyone to give a look at this series and if you like it, buy the light novel or manga and continue the story where they left off.
See you soon,
