Here we are (after some tickling trying to understand why AnimeNano has stopped to index me completely while it still asks me every 20 min for the RSS feed) for another review of a recent manga/anime series named Nagasarete Airantou, another that got a little forgotten in the middle of thousands of new series.
Let's start with a synopsis :
One day, Ikuto has a fight with his father and as a result runs away from home in the heat of the moment. Everything was going well until he boarded a ship, but then he carelessly fell overboard. After encountering the most serious raging storm in a hundred years, and spending many days adrift, he arrives here, at "Airantou". However, this island is a little weird...because, this Airantou is an island comprising solely of girls. An (extremely enviable) destiny awaits Ikuto.
The premise is one of the most common in harem animes, many girls, a single male that they follow everywhere. The only interesting change is that they do not follow him for love (at least not at the beginning), but more out of curiosity.
Yes, because this is an island entirely deserted if not for a bunch of girls stranded there after being separated from the rest of the village (the male part)...what a fortunate coincidence!
The story by itself doesn't give off the best reason for running away from home too. It's like saying "run away from home, you'll get a thousands girls ALL for you!". 
The characters are many, a lot to be honest and there is not enough time in the series to explore in detail all of them so their background remain shallow at best except for one/two girl (like Suzu)
My favourite character is the masculine carpenter Rin, her shy and cute behaviour when around Ikuto are priceless.
Nice second also for Suzu (the main heroine of the story) for her nice body and kind attitude, but she looks and behave too stupidly to get the first place unfortunately. 
The visual quality for the series is quite high and the style of the series is reminiscent of old anime. The animation is mostly consistent, but had some problems in some episodes (where the quality degraded quite a bit)
The sound department is top notch, with seiyuu like Yui Horie, Ryoko Shiraishi, Shizuka Itou and many other big name of the sector, the quality of the voice is something pretty much obvious.
The opening and ending animations were quite colorful and while this is a good thing, they were still nothing exceptional. The songs linked to them were almost all sung by Yui Horie, but looked too much "anime" to be interesting to listen somewhere else too. 
Concluding, , this is a mediocre series with mediocre plot and character and superb voice acting (unfortunately this happens too often in the anime world), but is nevertheless a nice pick if you're in for some relaxed time on the calm and well-paced life on this island.
