Hello everyone,
Here we are for another review of a recent anime series that I liked a lot. This time we'll be talking about a game adapted into an anime named Night Wizard that follows the most traditional rpg story ever.

Let's start with a synopsis :
Night Wizard. A term given to those whose mission is to protect the world from impending darkness. Renji Hiiragi is one such Night Wizard, who is constantly called on missions, even though all he wants is to be able to go to school and graduate. However, his latest order was to protect Elis Shiho, who is a new transfer student at his academy. Being dragged into the Astronomy Club by Renji's childhood friend, Kureha Akabane on her first day at school, Elis soon realises that she too, has the power to become a night wizard, after possessing one of seven secret Jewels, the Jewel of Kindness. Along with Renji and Kureha, Elis now begins her fight and her new life, as a Night Wizard
Yes, we can safely say that this series is one of the most classic one. A great evil loom in the darkness, but there are our heroes that protect the earth!!!

The story start with the classic character introduction, and then shift off to the various quests our character have to endure while being used by Anzelotte for the most various reasons.
After recovering the jewels the real story comes to light and our heroes have to save the world and reveal the true evil behind all these happenings.

Yes because like every rpg story that you can tell, the evil can become a companion even if temporarily, and a companion can become evil. (I'm looking at you Gazer)
The characters are mostly female (basically everyone except the main character and the true enemy) and mostly likable, you'll empathize soon enough with most of the characters enemy included. (at least I empathized with them.
)

My favourite character is the demon lord Bell Zephyr that is the main antagonist for most of the series except the ending part in which she become a companion vital to delay Gazer while our heroes tries to save Elis from becoming a big and bad demon.
I loved basically anything of her!!! Her little body, her voice, her evilness, her antics, etc...

The visual quality was quite high for the time (and still higher than some recent anime to be honest) and the animation except for some little problems was mostly consistent in the whole series.
I loved the animation of the opening while the ending was nothing worth noting.

The seiyuus involved in this project apart from some exception were quite inexperienced, but nevertheless did a nice job portraying our characters. I especially liked the Ema Kogure's role as Akari Himuro/Anzelotte and Yuko Goto's role as Bell Zephyr!

Opening and Ending songs were both wonderful, and I still hear them from time to time, especially the ending "Erinyes" sung by "Betta Flash". (The impact of having it sung during the final battle was incredible)

Concluding, this has been a quite good series, but not suggested for everyone. If you're not into fanservice and clichè rpg story you may be turned off by all the situations.
If you instead are like me, go and watch it now!!!
See you soon,
