Hello again everyone,
Let's go ahead with another review of a popular manga/anime that got 3 anime season adaptations plus some OVA. It's name is "Hidamari Sketch" written by Ume Aoki and adapted by Shaft (Yes, that is why Yuno looks like Madoka 
)
Let's start up with the classic synopsis :
Hidamari Sketch centers around a young girl named Yuno who finally is able to get accepted into Yamabuki Art High School, which she has longed for. To attend the school, Yuno moves and starts to live in a small apartment building named the Hidamari Apartments located across the street from the school. Once there, she quickly becomes friends with three other occupants at the apartments, including her classmate Miyako and two second-year students: Hiro and Sae. The events of the characters' everyday lives are shown as they attend the school together and get to know each other better. As the story progresses, the characters move up a year in school as the new school year comes, and two first-year girls enter to live at Hidamari Apartments: Nazuna and Nori.
Yes, it's an art school story, but very different from GA Geijutsuka. Hidamari Sketch is more focused on the natural life of these four girls (actually they increase later on) without any particular meaning or other, while GA is more focused on giving some comedy relief.
The characters are pretty simple and likable, everything is drawed and behave in a cute manner in this anime and that's maybe the best part of it.
There isn't much growth in the characters, but that's reasonable giving the "slice of life" genre of this series.
The graphical quality is high, but as always Shaft insert some "artistical" stuff inside the anime so be careful. (Even thought it's pretty light compared to the creepy Madoka Magika backgrounds)
Opening and Ending animations are pretty lively and cute, but nothing exceptional or remarkable.
The Seiyuu in this anime aren't the most famous (except for maybe Kaori Mizuhashi (Mami from Madoka Magika) and Rie Kugimiya as Chika), but most of them do a good work portraying their own character behaviour and emotion.
The OP songs are pretty catchy and fun tunes, but nothing you would hear normally. The ED instead (all done by "marble") are very nice songs you can hear everywhere (maybe I'll do in the future a particular review for some of them)
Concluding this series is pretty good and I suggest it to you if you like slice of life and may be a nice pick to let someone start in the anime world.
