Hello again,
Let's return back to the present after the last Maburaho post with another review of a famous manga/anime series of our time.
I'm talking about Hayate no Gotoku, a series that received two anime adaptations (52 episodes the first, 26 episodes the second) and has a still running manga (that I look to buy in the next April shipment from Japan).
Let's start up with the classic Wikipedia synopsis :
Hayate Ayasaki is an unlucky teenager who worked since childhood to make ends meet due to his parents' irresponsible behavior. One day he finds out that his parents were planning to sell his organs to the Yakuza to make money, leaving behind a massive gambling debt on his shoulders. While running away from the debt collectors, he ends up meeting Nagi Sanzen'in, a young girl who is the sole heir of the wealthy Sanzen'in estate, and due to a misunderstanding, Nagi ends up falling in love with Hayate. After he rescues Nagi from some kidnappers, she hires Hayate as her new butler.
As you may notice, this is a quite clichè beginning for most comedy/romance/harem anime out there. And yes, this anime configures itself as a comedy/romance/harem series!
The story while simple is pretty fresh every episodes and while each episodes are auto-conclusive, the story slowly progress through them giving new hints and information about each character in the big cast.
The characters are pretty likable and very numerous. (there are at least a dozen of recurring main characters)
Fortunately this series got a lot of episodes, so there is no problem exploring each one of the character's backstory (and hopefully we'll see a third season soon) in detail.
The graphical department is top notch in both season (that are made by different companies) and the animation is smooth and consistent on all episodes.
The seiyuu in this anime are VERY famous. We have Rie Kugimiya in the role of Nagi, Ryoko Shiraishi as Hayate, Rie Tanaka as Maria, etc... (I could go on forever)
Opening and Ending are mostly awesome for all the two season (there are multiple OP/ED for both seasons (7-8 in totals))
The soundtrack and in-anime effects are top notch as well. I loved the Hina interpretation of the Evangelion Opening song at one of the last second season episodes.
Concluding this is an anime you cannot miss, go and watch it and buy the manga too. It's worth you time definitely. 
This may also be a wondeful pick if you want to introduce someone to anime.
