Hello,
This time we'll do a review of one of the recent anime (original project prequel of a manga) that created the biggest fuss over its first episode. It's name is Ga Rei - Zero and is directed by Ei Aoki (the future director of Fate/Zero rings any bell?)

Let's start up with a synopsys :
The Japanese Ministry of Defense has an anti-paranormal special forces group called the Paranormal Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters. They're the ones responsible to protect Japanese soil and its people from supernatural and paranormal events. However, things didn't go so well in one of their missions, which leads to intervention by the Ministry of Enviroment's Supernatural Disaster Countermeasures Division after the PDCH has sustained large numbers of casualties battling demons.
The story seems to be simple, well don't trust it.
The first episode literally blows you off, they kill off all the cast one by one and at the end of the episode no explanation at all is given. (I thought when watching "game over already?")

After (from second episode onward) they just reset to some point in the past and start explaining the real story till they reach and explain the first episode.
Except for this particular decision of the director, the story is pretty good and gives an introduction to the manga (that start up exactly when the anime end (or well, they change some things))

The characters are extremely likable and you'll find yourself cursing the director more than once when they kill off someone off the spot with no mercy.
My favourite character is the main heroine Kagura Tsuchimiya voiced by Minori Chihara (the same seiyuu of Nagato Yuuki)

The graphical department is top notch, probably the best I've seen till now quality wise. The animation is consistent and each character is beautifully drawed!
The seiyuu in this anime as I mentioned earlier are pretty famous and do a good job impersonating the characters. The opening and ending are both wonderful song. (I loved the opening by Minori Chihara called "Paradise Lost")

Concluding, this is anime I suggest to anyone to watch entirely. It's one of the best of the last years!!!
I do not, however suggest this as a starting anime for introducing someone to anime as it's gore and convoluted story may be a turn off to someone new to the genre.

Now let me go cuddle my Kagura a little
See you soon,
