Today we'll talk about the first episode of the second season of Yuruyuri, one of the series we covered back in the summer season 2011 and probably one of the best comedy series of the last years.
It was extremely entertaining to follow the small stories in the first season and I was eagerly waiting for the second season to start since when the announcement was made.
The formula behind this series hasn't changed at all and can be easily summarized as "beautiful girls, comedy and a small bit of yuri undertones".
Here we are to talk a bit about one of the most popular and common setting in the recent days anime world. This post is part of the series of posts made while waiting in this holiday week for the winter season to properly start on thursday 05/01/2012 in order to resume episodics.
The setting we will talk about today is a rather new phenomenon that started to appear en-masse during the first years of the 21th century and developed to a point where pretty much all seasons have at least one major TV series feature these elements.
I'm talking about the story setting limiting itself to group of all-female cast either in an exclusive way (no male shown during the whole series like K-On) or non-exclusive way (all main characters and most of the side-characters are female, but you can still see some males from time to time in less relevant roles like Hyakko or Lucky Star) while keeping the "male-oriented" target.
Today we'll complete the coverage of the comedy yuri anime series Yuruyuri that completed its run with a grand finale filled of funny yuri moments with all the girls in this big cast. Yes, all the characters got some screentime, even the teacher and the president of the student council!
This series has followed the open-ended approach to end leaving us with plenty of material/characters to explore in a possible second series! We're still missing to see who is Akari's sister for example! (We don't know much of her, other than she's pretty stalkerish...)
Here we are to talk again about the yuri comedy anime series Yuruyuri that is virtually ended with this "emotional" episode (next episode will just be random mindless fun as the others) marking clearly the fact that Kyouko is the main character of this story.
Yes, let's talk about the 11th episode of this anime series, that talks about Kyouko's childhood life together with Yui and Akari before they grew up their personality to become what they are now. (even if, honestly speaking, Chinatsu and Yui aren't changed much from the past...)
Here we are to talk about the 8th and 9th episode of the slice of life yuri comedy series of this summer season 2011 named Yuruyuri that is having a great number of followers in the anime blogosphere.
The number of blogs talking about this series is very high, a lot more compared to similiar series in the past like A-Channel and such, maybe thanks to the yuri undertones always present in pretty much every episode... (but never big enough to be annoying)
The 8th episode start off very nicely cutting off both Chinatsu and Akari from the storyline (they are the less interesting characters from my point of view) and focusing on the rest of the girls with the theme of the episode being "lies".
